my long weekend

Weekend was long. I attended a children's party, a graduation celebration, a client meeting, a graduation ceremony and a delux dinner. I took the invitations without any hint of caution on my finances so apparently, i exhausted my week's worth of budget to fare, gifts and whatnots.

It was fun though. The children's party was held at Binangonan, Rizal which is a 1.5 hour trip from Megamall.  Upon arriving, me and my officemates saw this thing called chocolate fountain, much to our delight - a chocolic's dream realized.  We had a couple of marshmallows and wafers to go with it so yeah, we're in the let the-good-times-begin mode. I have to leave though after a couple of hours because I have to meet my client whose place is in Marikina.  Nevermind that it was another tedious and tiring trip.  My friend told me there'll be a little salo-salo (the grad celeb) so that's something to look forward to. The flow of food I mean. But when I got there, I was too tired to even lift a fork into my mouth. But the chocolate cake was sooo tempting which made me muster all the efforts remaining in my already exhausted body. After the chit chat, Reiland and I went on with our business and tried to cap the meeting off with a promise. Sigh, with the kind of schedule I have in my job, i'm worried that I might not be able to meet the deadline.

Sunday afternoon I was with Reiland again, this time to attend my alma mater's commencement exercises. The guest speaker was Atty. Antonio Inton, some lawmaker, also an alumni (i am not good at memorizing people's titles) who delivered an interesting speech about not resting on one's laurels. But i doubt it if he managed to give a good impression of his speech with our ever so short of an attention span.  That's one sad truth.

Anyway, I saw Noel. I was not expecting him to be there, but he said his parents wanted him to go march on the stage. He has gain weight and has grown taller. Perhaps he's still slacking off. Oh well, he's always been like that naman.

After the rites and the picture-picture we immediately headed for the reception. The place was more posh than the venue last year.  I bet its more expensive too. Its another thread to pull to find out the story behind the scandal in the graduation committee but let's not delve on that.

I went home exhausted. But happy.

Drinking during office hours in a regular  work day may be inappropriate but not in our division, not when we have enough reason to toast about.  Incidentally, a lot of my officemates were born this month, hence the frequent visit to partyland (i'm beginning to dislike all this bonding thing, when you are kind of obliged to join somebody's birthday prep because in one way or another you wouldn't want to be called a "hans solo" or a "loner" or a "killjoy" and yet at the back of your mind, all these bonding thing isnt really going to help when that very soon resignation day comes). We were even accompanied with our groovy senior manager who is also awfully generous to shoulder the tab. For the past ten months that I've been employed here it's my first time to join the gang. I'm not much of a drinker, and God knows how terrible terrible my behavior becomes when i drink two bottles at most. My friend here who turned all red and dizzy after downing a bottle of vodka cruiser can't even lift her tongue to speak. I hope i can post a picture of her here though because she looks like a strawberry, as red and as raw. I'm a little dizzy myself and i fancied doing a post while im in this state.

Still gibberish.

It's almost our off. I have not yet gathered the strength to strut away and go home.  Chams cancelled our little grocery errand because she is literally wasted. She's still red and pathetic (hope she doesn't read this i'll be doomed).  So there, we are just going to extend our time here in my cube until she turns back to her normal color.

I should give my friend all the credit for this new found hobby. As you know, im really not a fan of masses and chapels and going with her is much of a reason than purpose. Anyway, yesterday we chanced upon an enlightening talk about forgiveness.

20 trivias about myself:

 

 

1.)  For 16 years I was using the name Rochelle when it should be Rochell.  I just found out when I saw my birth certificate when I enrolled in college.  I so couldn’t believe my eyes that I made a copy of the document, type the missing letter “e”, Xeroxed it, and submitted the “falsified” doc to our registrar. Yeah, it backfired but that's another story =)

2.)  I have a broken ring fingernail. Poor finger got crushed by a closing door when I was still very little, apparently making “habol” to my mom (who has to go out of the house to work).

3.)  I collect MANUAL magazine – its a men's magazine sans the nude women. ( I think im a man in my past life.lol)

4.)  I’m a fan of moisturizers, body oils and green tea, i.e. sucker for good skin.

5.)  I can drink three liters (or more) of mango shake in a day.

6.)  I love walking. brisk walk, lazy walk, fun walk, emo walk, name it ill most probably go for it.

7.)  I do shorthand (stenography).

8.)  I’m a daredevil in the sense that I just have no modesty when it comes to a lot of things. People don’t actually know that about me. haha

9.)  I once went to the office early in the morning without brushing my teeth.

10.) I once poked my left ear so hard and gone deaf for a week. The second time around, it was my right ear. 

11.)  I love bathing in the rain.

12.)  I’m a bad cook. My taste buds are not really congruent with my mixing of spices but I make up for it with sugar. works everytime.

13.)  I love listening to people who has something to say, however stupid or crazy it is. I hate hypocrites and social climbers.

14.) I believe that attention and time are the best that you can give to a special someone.

15.) topshop, mango, zara and bayo are my favorite stores. wala lang, hanggang feeling lang.

16.) I once fall off a bridge and into a swamp when I was seven.  I got more laughs than sympathy. I was wet all over, mud and rotten leaves strangled in my clothes and my hair.  I had to get home in that state, riding a trolley (a domestic railroad mode of transportation) passing by hundreds of by-the-railroad residents. kumusta naman.

 17.) I’m mostly a whim person.

18.)  Doing housechores give me headache. I don’t know why!

19.)  I rejoice in a big bag full of trash and toiletries and food. My bag is a trashbin.

post holy week blab

wow, what a week. its suppose to be Holy Week as what my religion dictates it to be.  I'm suppose to fast and pray and do some introspection hogwash, something of which i was and will perhaps never be good at.  although i behaved like a monk during the 5-day non working holiday but only as far as social inclinations is concerned. doesnt give God the benefit of the doubt though.

what i did? okay, to start with, im not a devout christian so you dont really expect me to say "i went visita-iglesia with my family" or something. the invitation has to come from someone and its not going to be me. secondly, my faith doesnt extend to praying the tedious rosary and kneeling infront of a dark-colored statue. thirdly, my stomach doesnt really choose whatever it is that it wants to eat so cut me some pork-ban. i will eat whatever i want (and my pocket permits) to eat.  it's not that i hold disdain whenever i see someone do all those things.  i just dont buy it. period.

i just cant.  not that strong a believer i guess. but i never forget to call out to the Power that be, even at my happiest. Moreso at my happiest. I feel great just expressing my gratitude.

they say that one's faith needs to be tested from time to time.  what with all the sins swimming around? the devil is doing quite a good job.  add up the human ingeniousity to rationalize, no matter how twisted it can get sometimes, just to assure oneself that a certain act is legitimate - a principle based on worldly wisdom, as opposed to the holy wisdom.  such principles promise heaven or hell and one's faith will serve as the vessel. 

enough of faith crap. I went to sleep all day and laze around as much as i want to. i didnt even think about work or when will be my next payday cause i was living in complete desolation and oblivion.

and surprisingly, i kinda liked it.

 

 

at RDO 40

This morning I had to go to RDO 40 in Banawe to carry some documents that are necessary for our's client's application for tax refund.  I was apprehensive because stepping foot on any of the government's office isnt really something I look forward to. But its always been quite an adventure so what the heck.
